Life in Chapel Green
Chapel Green is an active residential community comprised of 204 homes, located just 15 minutes from the quaint shore town of Lewes, Lewes Beach on the Delaware
Bay, the Atlantic Ocean at Cape Henlopen State Park, the Lewes-Cape May Ferry, a plethora of shopping outlets, renowned cycling and hiking trails, and a host of
fabulous restaurants. Our neighborhood also offers many weekly and monthly activities at its centrally located clubhouse, outdoor pool, tennis courts, fitness room,
and play area. For those boaters and travelers, Chapel Green is also unique in that it has an on-site, out of sight, private and secluded lot for trailers and RVs
belonging to its residents.
Our Home Owners Association is governed by an all-volunteer Board of Directors. Through their efforts, and the efforts of many neighborhood residents, we are able
to keep our HOA dues at acomparatively low $500.00. Meeting quarterly and annually, the
residents have frequent opportunities to be kept apprised of the "State of the Community" and have a voice in its governance. Volunteers maintain the over 25 acres
of Common Ground and serve on the committees that keep our neighborhood vibrant and attractive. Because of this "Spirit of Volunteerism", our treasury is healthy
and our costs are kept to a minimum. Our monthly newsletter, "The Wave," keeps residents up to date on upcoming and recent events and club activities. The neighborhood
directory is updated and distributed once a year. Other Social media such as Facebook and NextDoor are also avenues of communication that help keep Chapel Green
neighbors informed and in touch.
Established in the 1990s, Chapel Green has become an attractive and sought after place to live. We are a diverse community welcoming all races, all creeds and all
individuals. Our home turnover rate is low; however, when a home does become available, it does not stay on the market long. This speaks to the truth
that Chapel Green is a community where its residents care for and serve one another.
